Welcome to Brookland Arts
Home of Brookland Area Writers and Artists (BAWA)*

Join us Wednesday, December 7 @ 7:30 pm for a Celebration of Light

The first Wednesday of every month we have a “themed” poetry reading.  What, you may ask, is a “themed” poetry reading?  The poets each choose 3-5 poems, from a variety of poets, that address a specific theme.  Each poet interprets the theme a little differently and each brings his or her own aesthetic to the poems chosen and to the reading.  It makes each reading an adventure.  Plus we all have an opportunity to hear and learn about many different poets.  Out themes have included such topics as: chocolate, dog poetry, independence, “hot” poems, “cold” poems, poems about stars and light.

Check out upcoming readings and events on our Calendar.

You can find pictures and poems from all our previous readings behind the Poetry and Prose tab.

Come in, make yourself at home and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments.

All readings are co-sponsored by The American Poetry Museum and held at the Center for Poetic Thought, on the Brookland Artswalk, Studio #25.
